Half Marathon Monday

I have a lot on my mind, but no time to get a recipe up and going on this crazy Monday.  I'll save that for tomorrow.  Today is all about the Half Marathon that I am signed up for.  The official countdown has begun and I really have to start taking training more seriously.  I have 55 days to get ready which I believe is plenty of time.  I am excited and nervous about this since it will be my first official Half Marathon.  I have run the distance before, but never as a real race.  I am going to do the run with my besties, Lauren and Patrick and I can't wait!  If any runners out there have any advice for me, I would love to hear it!

In other news, my Spring Break is over.  Sad.  I had a great weekend with my family and friends. I got to see my friend Anna for dinner on Friday, drove to Champaign with my family to see my brother for his birthday on Saturday, and got to see my friend Jill Sunday before heading north for a family Easter dinner and then driving back to school.  I get to celebrate all the holidays! Easter was a lot of fun because I got to see a ton of my family, eat amazing food, and I even got some of my Aunt's amazing potato salad to bring back to school with me...I know what I'm having for lunch.

I'm a little nervous and stressed right now due to this whole job search process and going back to school.  I feel totally ready for today, but at the same time, I am nervous.  I am excited to just get back into the swing of things.  Today we are doing trig identities and tomorrow is a Geometry Team Test.  This makes for a nice and relatively relaxing way to get back into the school week.

Okay, that makes me feel a little better.  Have you ever just needed to get some thoughts down onto paper in order to focus and calm down?  Well, thank you for letting me do that here because I feel much better and I am ready to take on today! School, tutoring, running, and maybe even dinner :)

  2. I too ran my first 1/2 marathon last year; it was a blast! Don't worry about the distance, I only ran 10 miles at one time before attempting 13.1, adrenaline will carry you the last 3! Don't sweat it and take it easy the week before, Good luck!
