Asheville, NC/Lexington, KY

We began our return trip to Illinois via Asheville and Lexington.  We stopped for lunch in Asheville, which is a lovely town that I wouldn't mind visiting in the future.  It was a five hour drive from Charleston to Asheville and it was my shift.  It was a nice drive though and we made good time.  Plus, you get to see some pretty views along the way.  Our lunch stop was another FoodNetwork On the Road recommendation called the Early Girl Eatery.  All the food is "farm fresh" and from the area.  It was delicious.  They serve breakfast all day as well as lunch and dinner items starting at 11.  We had tons of options and it made for a great lunch stop.

After another 4 hours of driving (Bri's shift), we made it to our next stop: Lexington.  We stayed in the same hotel as last time, but went to Saul Good for dinner instead.  Saul good had a great looking menu with a ton of different types of food.  My mom and I split a salad and sandwich since we were not starving and wanted something healthy.  It was pretty darn good.  Then, we just had to grab dessert at Orange Leaf Yogurt down the road.  We are one family that is addicted to froyo! At night, Bri and I were able to work out at the fitness center in the hotel and then we watched Peter Pan (hes never seen it!).

Tomorrow we will make our way back into Illinois and home to Chicago.  I am excited to finally be home.
